At DJAM, we think it’s important that students get the chance to put their skills into practice on stage. Performing live is a great way to gain experience — and it’s also the perfect moment for anyone interested to get a taste of what we do.

Once a year DJAM opens its doors for the annual Open Day! You’re warmly invited to join us. The program will be hosted by DJAM teacher Ilse Huizinga.

Enjoy live performances by various student combos who have studied at DJAM throughout the current course year. It’s a great opportunity to experience the results of a year full of dedication and musical creativity!
During the Open Day, you’ll have the chance to meet DJAM teachers and students, ask questions, and exchange experiences. It’s the perfect way to get a feel for the atmosphere and the way we work.
Thinking of auditioning yourself? You can sign up for the entrance exam on the spot.

new year’s concert 2026
Every year, DJAM kicks off the new year with a festive concert, featuring performances by all student combos – for each other and for the audience. It’s an inspiring afternoon full of music, collaboration, and vibrant energy!
The New Year’s Concert is free and open to everyone. It takes place in the theater hall of the Polanentheater, located in the DJAM building.

DJAM combo presentations/sessions
We organize afternoons for combo concerts and subsequent sessions to enhance your performing skills. They are held in Zaal 100, De Wittenstraat 100 in Amsterdam-West. Leaders: DJAM teachers Florian Hierdeis, Sven Schuster and Jens Lima Dos Santos. Everybody is welcome!
