Levels assignment

Entrance Exams

To start your study at DJAM you have to do an entrance exam. For the theoretical and practical courses, you will be assigned to one of four levels. The results will be communicated immediately after the audition. We ask for an admission test fee.

The beginner’s level is called level 1, while ‘advanced’ is the highest level. Since the theoretical and practical skills are evaluated separately, it is possible to be placed on different levels. For example, you may be placed at a different level for the theory lessons than for the combo lesson.
Should you feel that–after a couple of lessons–you belong in a different level, please notify and discuss it with your teacher to examine the possibility of switching to another level.

 Moving to a Higher Level

In May and June exams will be given in all courses (except for main subject and APM) to determine whether or not students can continue their studies at a higher level. Because the study tempo is very individual and depends on specific talents and preferences it is possible that you need more than one course year to succesfully complete one or more courses.
At the end of the year, each student receives an evaluation report, containing the results of these exams, as well as remarks and suggestions.

Please note: the results of all exams are only valid for a limited amount of time. You have to repeat the exam(s) if you are not beginning or continuing your studies at DJAM in the same year the exam(s) were given.

Re-exams

Should you have missed exams or should you be dissatisfied wih the results you can enlist for re-exams. The re-exams will be held in the period of the entrance exams. You have to pay a fee to take part in the exams. During a re-exam a maximum of 2 subjects can be tested.
Please note: the results of all exams are only valid for a limited amount of time. You have to repeat the exam(s) if you are not beginning or continuing your studies at DJAM in the same year the exam(s) were given.
